- The plant operated using (4) people per shift. General maintenance (shut down) occurred every (2) years, with last done in June 2008 (five months before final shut down).

- Removal of HCl and water in an acid-proof distillation column
- Removal of Phenol by distillation
- Removal of tar by BPA evaporation
- Crystallization of BPA in Toluene; The BPA-like species remain dissolved in Toluene
- Separation of BPA crystals and all mother liquor (Toluene and BPA like) using centrifuges
- BPA and Toluene is further separated by means of melting and stripping. Below the column, liquid BPA is obtained and transformed into solid form.
